Geographic Information Systems (地理信息系统) and Remote Sensing at ISU

地球部 & Environmental Systems is home to ISU’s spatial analysis software and expertise. 与 Office of Information Technology (OIT), we maintain site licenses for ESRI’s Arc地理信息系统 software suite, complete with unlimited site licenses for academic units, 工作人员, 教师, 和学生.

How can I get access to the Software?

Arc地理信息系统 is available for ISU 工作人员, 学生, and 教师.

教师 and 工作人员 should use the ISU App Catalog (http://appcatalog.xautor.net/) or the ISU Software Downloads site (http://downloads.xautor.net/)才能使用该软件. OIT can also assist in installing Arc地理信息系统. These installation options work for on-campus use, and for off-campus use will require connection through ISU’s VPN (http://vpn.xautor.net/). For off-campus use by 教师 or 工作人员 (but NOT 学生), please contact Dr. 史蒂夫·奥尔德里奇. NOTE: 教师 and 工作人员 may only install the software on their ISU-owned workstations.

学生 must install the software from the ISU Software Downloads site (http://downloads.xautor.net/) and acquire a one-year registration code and installation instructions from their 教师 member. 另外, they can acquire a registration code from their instructor and bring it to the OIT Technology Assistance Group (TAG) in the basement of Stalker Hall for help in installing the software. If you are an ISU undergraduate but not taking a 地理信息系统 class you may request a registration code from Dr. 史蒂夫·奥尔德里奇. What Remote Sensing Software is Available?

地球部 & Environmental Systems also has teaching computer-lab access to Erdas Imagine and ENVI/IDL+, two of the leading remote sensing software packages. 教师 and 工作人员 requiring access to these software packages should contact Dr. 史蒂夫·奥尔德里奇 directly to discuss how this may be possible.
